We recently bought a sun shelter for our upcoming beach vacation (and for any other outdoor activity that requires shade). Here is a video of us assembling and disassembling the shelter. Most reviews say that it is difficult to assemble and I wanted to see for myself exactly how difficult it was and how long it would take me to put the thing together. The conclusion? It is a two-person job. And yes, it requires a bit of strength to assemble, mainly because the design of the shelter requires tension to hold the thing up. Overall I am happy with this purchase and I think it will last and of course since I bought it from REI, it will come with a lifetime guarantee. If it ever has any issues, I can always return it back for a full refund. I have a feeling I’m going to be happy I bought this thing for a long time :)

Hey, I liked your vid, and am considering buying one of these. Is the Navy and White one, an older version? And have you since purchased a addition wall for it?
Hi Eric, I believe that the navy and white model is the older version, they have a green/white one now. The shade is nice and big, can withstand winds only if you tie it down, I bought sand anchors for the beach. Its fairly light so can easily be blown away without proper anchoring. I havnt bought the wall accessory, I don't think I would find much use for it. Good luck!
Just a quick thought. Sand Anchors are pretty key to setting up any shelter on the beach. You can use old plastic grocery bags filled with sand and buried. I've done it for years... cheap and easy. Also works for snow.
