Day 1 – Arrival

After what seemed like an endless airplane trip, I have finally landed in Ho Chi Minh City! The flight began out of Dulles International Airport with a three hour layover at Narita, Japan — overall flight time 20 hours. For the most part the flight was generally what you want out of a flight — uneventful. (more…)

Happy Birthday dear Nicola. This year has been quite an amazing year hasn’t it? You crossed the atlantic ocean and got married the guy that picked you up at the airport. Now you’ve turned 28 and are ready to start your career! I can’t wait to celebrate your next birthday to see what an amazing year we will have together! I love you! -Lincoln

My sort of new phone [updated]

Hey everyone, this is my first blog post written and posted from my iPhone. In case you’re wondering about the subject line, I just upgraded and pwned my iPhone to the new 2.1 software. This allows me to install applications from the itunes app store, one of which is this neat wordpress app. So there you have it. I can even post a pic from my phone and attach it to the post. My only gripe about this application is that there’s no way to add captions to the pics. Oh well can’t have it all I guess. I really don’t have an excuse for not updating our site.

Update: Sept 29, 08

After having a few weeks to use 2.1 I have to say that I enjoyed my 1.1.4  experience much better. 2.1 feels sluggish and the app store only sucks money from my wallet for semi-useful toys. Overall, the best feature in my opinion is the apple remote. Period. Here’s a list of things I’d like to see fixed:

  • Mail Search – I get like 10 mails a day and if I need to check something I got last week.. forget about it.
  • Random safari crashes
  • Sometimes the keyboard is laggy in safari
  • Not a fix but lets get the final release for VLC for iPhone public
  • Application / Menu load time is noticeably sluggish, lets speed that up
  • Cut n Paste would be nice
  • Why do i need mobileme to do sync over the air?

Was browsing through my blogs and found an interesting article I thought you all might be interested in: Massachusetts based bioplastics company Metabolix has devised what it hopes is an efficient way to manufacture its product: growing grass, harvesting plastic. So basically that means that they have figured out a way to grow bioplastics in grass. Hopefully this will bring down the price of current bio-plastics and find its way into every supermarket where it will replace traditional plastic bags. My only hope that bio-plastic decomposes.

Wooden Volkswagon Beetle

For some strange reason, I find this wooden-clad Volkswagon Beetle simply AMAZING and want one! Apparently it took the couple a year to put over 20,000 oak slabs on the car and the best part is the car works perfectly and is street legal. Check the link for eye-candy.

I’ve been privately bitching for awhile now why I am constantly finding that everywhere I go I find myself cold inside public buildings. What boggles my mind is that I am not the only one. (more…)
